After reports earlier this month suggested that Jose Mourinho had deemed Juan Mata and Daley Blind surplus to requirements at Manchester United, reports are now suggesting that Arsene Wenger is quite keen on a supposed Mourinho outcast.
According to Steve Bates of the Sunday People [h/t Mirror], Arsene Wenger is a big fan of Dutch midfielder/defender Daley Blind and has instructed the club to prepare a bid in the event that Mourinho actually wants to sell him.
Signed from Ajax in 2014 for a fee of £13.8 million, Blind will reportedly cost Arsenal £16 million should the Gunners really wish to get the deal over the line.
It would be a real shame if Daley Blind was sold by Man United. Think he's brilliant and has so many components to his game. Utility man.

Although Blind is far from a superstar signing, his passing ability and versatility would make him a great signing for any side and would certainly strengthen Arsene Wenger’s squad next season.
during the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 first leg match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield on March 10, 2016 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
Speaking about reports that Mourinho planned to sell him this summer however, Blind highlighted his impressive performances in Manchester United’s defence last season and also stated that he has every intention to stay and fight for his place next season.
Speaking to Dutch outlet NOS, Blind said: “I am looking forward to working with Mourinho. We will have to wait and see whether anything changes for me.
“I will just give my all and work hard. Mourinho is a manager who has achieved a lot and I am keen to work with him.
“I might not be as big as Pepe, but I think I have shown in the Premier League that I can hold my own defensively. We conceded the fewest goals in the Premier League and I think we got the most clean sheets.
“That’s something to be proud of. I played nearly every game and that is a good feeling.
“You might be looking for a certain statement, but I will just give my all under Mourinho.”

Conceding the fewest amount of goals in the league last season is certainly not a feat to be scoffed at and with Arsenal reportedly looking at back up for Nacho Monreal, a move for Blind would certainly make sense.
