Liverpool Defender To Sign For AS Roma

Liverpool and Slovakian centre-back , Martin Skrtel , looks to be moving to Serie A Giants, Roma, according to the Express.

Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli of Gazzetta dello Sport also tweeted that “Roma have reached an agreement for Skrtel. 3 years contract for the Slovak former Liverpool defender”.

News broke earlier in the week that the 31 year old may be on the move to Fenerbahce for a fee of £5 million. Skrtel’s agent has also said that many clubs are chasing the Liverpool star.


Skrtel who has been at Liverpool since 2008 , has made 242 appearances and surprisingly enough has only won one major tournament with the Reds , that being the League Cup in 2012.

Skrtel is currently playing with Slovakia in Euro 2016 , so no done deals will be produced until after the Tournament in France .

But Rome looks like the destination for Skrtels football next season .It will be fascinating to see how one of the toughest defenders in the Premier League will fare in the defensive minded country of Italy .
