It is another Derby day in the City of Manchester where club faithfuls of both teams hope to see just another football spectacle as has been a norm over the history of the clubs.
The game was very important for both teams with Champions League places on the line. City being the safer of the two teams wanted to win in order to make their hold on the fourth place firmer.
Both teams named strong starting lineups with Louis van Gaal opting to start Morgan Schneiderlin ahead of Marouane Fellaini and benching Guillermo Varela for Italian defender, Matteo Darmian. The Citizens meanwhile named a usual strong side with Sergio Aguero leading the line.
In the first half, much of the early proceedings went City’s way till a brilliant move from Marcus Rashford led to a goal that was sufficient for them to take the lead into half time.
Second half did not bring more luck for City as they tried up until the last minute but were not able to change the scoreline. Joe Hart meanwhile got injured early in the half to add to City’s injury woes.
United now move within a point of the top four even though The Citizens have a game in hand. Can Man Utd make top FOUR??
